Q: Is TMap suite a Geographical Information System (GIS) ?
A: No, TMap suite is a cartographic package. The concept behind TMap is to represent statistical data over a map.
Q: How can I get base maps ?
A: TMap Designer can import ArcInfo shape files. You can also create your own map or contact us to get some help with this work.
Q: What kind of map can TMap work with ?
A: TMap can work with any map from a map of the world to the map of a building or a room. The maps are stored as vectors so there is no limitation to what TMap can represent.
Q: What is the difference between a base map and a thematic map ?
A: A base map represents the raw version of a map with vectors only, while a thematic map contains not only a base map but also the representation of the data using the cartographic display as well as the annotations information such as the thematic map title.

Q: TMap Designer does not want to run on my machine. What can I do ?
A: Make sure the latest version of the java runtime is installed on your machine.
